The ‘medieval’ strand held two successful workshops on 12 May and 10 June 2016 at the University of Bristol, funded by the Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS) and the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN). Speakers included Mark Ormrod (University of York), Catherine Clarke (University of Southampton), Thomas Hahn (University of Rochester), and Jonathan Wooding (University of Sydney). Marianne O’Doherty from the University of Southampton also gave us a demonstration of the online resource, ‘Pelagios’, a tool for mapping and linking historical sites.

PROJECT LAUNCH

University of Bristol

The network was launched on 22 June 2016 at the University of Bristol, with staff from Humanities, Arts, Law, and the School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies. We exchanged news about our research and our ideas for the network and how it could help us to develop plans for funding and research.
